Archive- Early Spring 2010
In early spring, the irrigation system has to be checked. There are 1,500 blueberry plants on the farm and each plant has two micro-irrigation sprayers (a form of drip irrigation).
Last winter, mice took up residence in some of the lines. This year, thirty spray heads have been dug up, their lines pulled out and gnawed. We suspect coyotes, either looking for food, or water, or just having fun. They will have to be replaced.
Pruning takes precedence however.
