Farm Journal ~ November
That transitional time between fall and winter is clear to see on the blueberry plants. Seasonal flashes of brilliant color amidst bare branches. It has its own rare beauty.
The storm that took us all by surprise last month blew over the farm with no damage among the rows. We did lose one old Oak in the woods and the difference in the canopy now- blue sky where once there were branches and leaves- is a revelation. We were fortunate.
All of the plants have their nice cover of leafy mulch and are done setting buds for the spring. Soon their winter dormancy will begin!
