Farm Journal- June
The blueberry blossoms are abundant as we enter the month of June. The bees, local and imported, have done their fine work fertilizing and berries are beginning to set. The blueberries seem to defy all the weather changes that we have endured this spring, following their own inner clocks.
Larry Dapsis, the Barnstable County entomologist, reports that we have fared well so far under the siege of winter moths- we hope none will float in from afar.
It won't be long now- 5 or 6 weeks until the farm opens for picking!
