Farm Journal- June
All the work that can be done to help the blueberries along has been accomplished. Now the sun and rain and nutrients from the soil will accomplish their own alchemy.
The plants are strong. The bees, local and imported, pollinated all the flowers and like little fairies swept the field with pollen dust transforming all the white flower bells into round green berries. Pretty magical! Speaking of magic, by our calculations, the Cape Cod bear, that intrepid 21st century Thoreau (whom we have named Henry), must have cut through the farm on his way across the Cape- at least we like to think so.
We WILL be opening sometime during the first week of July so check back here as we get closer.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you again and like the rest of you we are looking forward to tasting that first delicious blueberry warmed by the sun. See you soon!
