In the lower west field purple vetch twines itself among the long stems of grass, unperturbed and peaceful, and from its vantage point all is quiet in the field, the blueberry pickers come and gone with their blue bounty following the trail of quicksilver summer days.
Now there are only the doves and the swallows to consider, the lengthening shadows, the gold in the grass, and so soon, the chill of the evening air with its lingering morning mists.
