Farm Journal- February '24
All is quiet on the home front.
True, the mysterious digging is still apparent by roving bands of wild turkeys. We never catch them in the act, proper, only catch them dashing off into the woods with the fresh scent of newly dug dirt hovering in their wake. Again, we do not know what effect this will have on the plants.
Fortunately, the winter temperatures have been on the mild side. The plants look hardy enough. Their color is good and they are still deep in their winter dormancy. We anticipate that subtle change of color to take place next month as they rouse themselves, but for now they are dreaming of summer as are we all.
