Farm Journal ~ April
Between the gray days with their clouds and showers, and occasional cold temperatures, we get this. A glimmer of hope in the light that says spring is here.
The plants are showing off their post-dormancy color and the buds are everywhere more apparent. By month's end there will be a transformation in the field but for now it is a slow and gradual process.
Our pruning will be minimal this year and so far it goes in fits and starts. We have mowed the wildflower meadow and around the outskirts of the rows for spring growth there as well. We may tire of the chores but never the beauty!
