March's Vernal Equinox is a day circled on most farmer's calendars. Traditionally we start pruning by then, weather permitting for humans at least.
Blueberry plants follow their own calendar and internal clock no matter how unpredictable the weather. Their winter slumber over, we can expect to see some changes in color on the plants. And in fact, a subtle color variation has begun to appear.
The tender buds that will begin to form on the branches this month will soon become flower and leaf.
