Farm Journal- November

At the farm in November we finish our fall chores as all the remaining leaves color and drop from the plants. It is a month that mirrors spring's beginnings only it is a time of endings instead. Each of the tiny green leaves of April have done their work for another season. They have brought forth their flowers and their berries. Next year there will be others. Each of the leaves that fall to the foot of each plant will continue to provide nourishment throughout the winter but first they have a few weeks of pageantry all their own. 

There is no better way to feel our connection with nature than to know a place well and love that place, as we do the farm, in all its seasons.
