Farm Journal- January 2013
More of a squall than a snow storm swept across Cape Cod during the final days of December. The hard freeze that followed left a coating of ice everywhere. Fortunately, the accumulation was so minimal the weight is easy for the plants to bear.
We like to think that the prisms of light dancing through the rows of blueberry plants, as the sun passes overhead, are a blessing for the field, renewing and recharging it with cleansing energy for the year ahead.
We hope for a year bright with blessings for all.

R.I.P. Chewan
On the cusp of the new year the farm lost another dear friend. Chewan was a Tibetan refugee from Kathmandu, Nepal who came here to better support his family, under the sponsorship of farmer Tim Friary. He was a tireless worker at our farm and Tim's. His bright smile and caring heart will be sorely missed by all. He was surrounded by loved ones, all far from home, and the Ven. Lama Konchok Sonam.
