Farm Journal ~ April
Spring is heralding its arrival daily now. Buds of this season's crop are evident on a good section of the field, though many plants, especially in the first section, show signs of damage from last year. The abundant rainfall and snowmelt will help the plants growth and health this month.
As we mentioned in our March posting, we will be doing some judicious pruning on the healthiest looking plants but the field will have to continue to transition from a highly cultivated and kept farm to a wilder one.
The weeds are not having a problem, already Dead-nettle, Spear Thistle, and Garlic Mustard have re-grouped, with the presence of one escapee, a lovely Daffodil standing tall.
