Farm Journal- May
Well, we certainly have had enough rain, no irrigation required so far this spring. The blueberry buds are opening and the leaves unfurling. What we need now is sun- lots of it. This month and next.
There have been Bumblebees zooming about looking for some nectar to take back to their hives. All that's available for now are flowering weeds, and of those there are plenty. We have ordered our bees again this year to supplement the locals. They should arrive, via UPS, by mid-month. Timing should be just right for the first flowering of the blueberry plants.
Pruning is going along slowly. Very slowly. But we are not worried.
