Farm Journal- April
This is one of our busiest months if spring holds true. Great strides should be made in our pruning efforts which were slow in March due to changeable weather. This is never surprising.
This lower farm road sees heavy tractor traffic back and forth from the barn and greenhouses. You can see by the muddy ruts.
The first Osprey of the season sailed over yesterday. Just one. A welcome sight. There have been reports of a white-feathered turkey but we have not spotted him as yet. Turkeys and robins and song birds forage in the mowed fields and the sounds of April fill the air.
Don't forget to stop by our table at the 7th Annual Meet Your Local Farmers Day on Saturday, April 2nd, from 2-5. The event is free, indoors, and held at the Harwich Community Center, sponsored by the Harwich Conservation Trust. For directions and a list of the farmers attending click on link- http://harwichconservationtrust.org/cape-cod-farms/
